How We Are Governed.
The ExJAM Humanitarian Foundation operates under a constitution, governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees accountable to the full membership.
Governed by a Written Constitution.
The Foundation's constitution was adopted at the inaugural general meeting of ExJAM alumni in 2010. It defines the Foundation's mandate, membership structure, board composition, case review process, and financial controls.
The constitution may only be amended by a supermajority vote of registered members at a duly convened general meeting. No board action may override or suspend any provision of the constitution.
A copy of the current constitution is available to all registered members on request. Contact the Board Secretary to obtain a copy.
Request the ConstitutionHow Trustees Are Elected.
Trustees are elected by registered ExJAMs at the Annual General Meeting. Any registered ExJAM in good standing may stand for election to the board. Elections are conducted by open vote unless the meeting resolves to use a secret ballot.
Each trustee serves a fixed term as defined in the constitution. Trustees may stand for re-election at the end of their term. No trustee may serve more than two consecutive terms in the same role without a break of at least one full term.
