Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the ExJAM Humanitarian Foundation website and member portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use our services. We may update these Terms periodically; continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Eligibility

Use of the member portal is restricted to verified ExJAM alumni and authorised Foundation staff. By registering for an account, you confirm that:

• You are a verified ExJAM alumnus or a person authorised by one.
• The information you provide during registration is accurate and complete.
• You are at least 18 years of age or acting with parental or guardian consent.

Use of the Member Portal

You may use this website and the member portal for lawful purposes only. You must not:

• Misuse or attempt to compromise our systems or security.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in any form.
• Impersonate any person or organisation.
• Use this website to solicit contributions for any purpose other than ExJAM's programmes.
• Share your account credentials with any other person. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Donations

• All donations are voluntary and non-refundable except where required by law.
• ExJAM allocates donations to the programmes and cases designated at the time of giving.
• All case funding decisions are made at the sole discretion of the ExJAM Board of Trustees following due diligence. Selecting a case during donation does not create a legal obligation for the Foundation to fund that case. Donations fund the Common Fund; the Board determines disbursement on a case-by-case basis.
• If a specific case is fully funded or closed, donations may be redirected to similar cases in the same programme category, with donor notification.
• Donation receipts are issued for all processed contributions and may be used for tax purposes where applicable under Nigerian law.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and data — is the property of ExJAM Humanitarian Foundation or its licensors. You may share our published content for non-commercial, editorial, or journalistic purposes with attribution. You may not reproduce content for commercial use without written permission from the Foundation.

Limitation of Liability

ExJAM provides this website on an “as is” basis. We make no warranties regarding uninterrupted availability or the accuracy of content at all times. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, ExJAM is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website or our services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

ExJAM is a humanitarian funding body, not a medical or healthcare provider. The Foundation's role is limited to financial assistance toward approved cases. All clinical decisions — including choice of treatment, surgical procedures, medication, and post-treatment care — are made solely by the treating medical professionals and the patient. ExJAM accepts no liability for medical or surgical outcomes, treatment complications, delays in care, or any adverse health event arising from a case the Foundation has funded or considered for funding.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered members. The current version of these Terms is always available at this URL. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.
